Chinese Government Scholarship
Introduction to Chinese Government Scholarships In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE), is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs. Now, 279 designated Chinese universities offer a wide variety of academic programs in Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Economics, Legal Studies, Management, Education, History, Literature, Philosophy, and Fine Arts for scholarship recipients at all levels. 1. CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
Chinese government scholarship program
1.Bilateral projects:
This includes full or partial scholarships in accordance with the educational exchange agreements or consensus between the Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities or international organizations. It supports undergraduate students, graduate students, general scholars and senior scholars. Applicants shall apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of their home countries.
2. China University Independent Enrollment project
This is a full scholarship for designated Chinese universities and certain provincial education offices in specific provinces or autonomous regions to recruit outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. It only supports graduate students Applicants shall apply to the designated Chinese universities undertaking this program.
3. The Great Wall scholarship program
This is a full scholarship for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to sponsor students and scholars in developing countries to study and research in China. It only supports general scholars and senior scholars. Applicants shall apply to the National Commissions for UNESCO in their home countries.
4. China - EU student exchange program
This is a full scholarship to encourage students from EU member countries to study and research in China in order to promote mutual understanding between China and EU members. It supports undergraduate students, graduate students, general scholars and senior scholars. Applicants shall apply to the Office for Education and Culture, Mission of the P. R. China to the European Union.
5. China -AUN scholarship program
This is a full scholarship for the ASEAN University Network (AUN) to sponsor students, teachers and scholars from ASEAN member nations to study in China and to enhance the academic exchange and mutual understanding between China and ASEAN members. It only supports graduates. Applicants shall apply to AUN Secretariat.
6.Pacific Islands Forum
This is a full scholarship to sponsor students from Pacific island countries to study in China. It supports undergraduates, graduates, general scholars and senior scholars. Applicants shall apply to Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Secretariat.
7. World Meteorological Organization Project
This is a partial scholarship (including a tuition fee waiver, free on-campus accommodation and Comprehensive Medical Insurance) for the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to sponsor international students to study and conduct research in meteorology, hydrology, and water resources supervision and management in China. It only supports undergraduates and graduates. Applicants shall apply to WMO. 2.SUPPORTING CATEGORIES, DURATION, INSTRUCTION LANGUAGE, INSTITUTIONS AND MAJORSSupporting Categories Chinese Government Scholarship programs sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to undertake degree studies (bachelor, master and PhD) and Chinese language study or academic research in institutions of higher education in China. Duration Chinese Government Scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language (preparatory) study.

Teaching Language :
1. Chinese government scholarships for undergraduate students to study Chinese language . Chinese government scholarship undergraduate students must study for 1 years to get basic Chinese language knowledge and pass the examination in the designated perparatory colleges.
On provision of ability of Chinese language and knowledge and criteria of understanding Chinese culture , applicant may apply for exemption from the preparatory education in Chinese language learning as a complete secondary education. Secondary education and compulsory course with its graduate school issued by the Chinese language teaching; Chinese proficiency admission undergraduate education entrance requirements, and with the Chinese Proficiency Test (hereinafter referred to as "HSK") result report (HSK report is valid for two years).
At present, China government scholarship undergraduate students take college preparatory education of Tianjin University, Nanjing Normal University, Shandong University, Huazhong Normal University, Tongji University, Beijing Language and Culture University, Northeast Normal University, Beijing International Studies University, Capital Normal University, University of International Business and Economics and other ten universities.
2.The language of Chinese graduate students and graduate students is usually Chinese, although some schools can provide English Teaching for some specific majors too (please visit http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or http://www.campuschina.org please check Chinese universities and programs introduction.
Those Selecting Chinese language learning and not being able to meet Chinese level of professional learning status, learning Chinese are required to participate in the 1-2 year, reaching university admission requirements before the beginning of professional learning, or can not continue to enjoy the Chinese government scholarships to study in china.Among , the study in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine (Western Medicine), economics, management, law and art professionals, learning Chinese for a period of 1 years; learning literature, history, philosophy and medicine (Chinese Medicine) professional, Chinese learning period of not more than 2 year.
Those choosen English or those whose Chinese level has reached the requirements of professional learning status are eligible not to take part in the Chinese preparatory classes.

1. Full Scholarship
Tuition fee:A fee waiver of tuition fee,including scholarship students training, management and organizational activity, educational visit, the cost of social gathering and other activities. Tuition fee by the use of the school.
Accommodation:Free on-campus dormitory accommodation for Chinese scholarship or payment of accommodation fee subsidies. Accommodation by the use of the school. According to the provisions of the school accommodation in the school by the school to provide free quarters, generally double room; approved by the school, the choice of off campus accommodation, may be monthly or quarterly access to school accommodation. Undergraduate (matriculation), master's degree (general students): 700 yuan / month
Doctoral students (senior students): 1000 yuan / month
The cost of living. Standard for:
Undergraduate: 2500 yuan / month
Graduate students and general students: 3000 yuan / month
Doctoral students and senior students: 3500 yuan / month
The cost of living is paid monthly by the school. Registering before the 15th of a particular month (including fifteen days) before the school registration will be granted full monthly living allowance while registration after 15th of a month, will be provided with half of the living expenses; for graduating students half a month after the graduation living allowance for their graduation date declared by school for 15 days; scholarship students in the semester ( except normal holidays ) for personal reasons spent more than 15 days leave, the scholarship amount will be the subject to stop.
